Abercrombie visit 6.

Today, i took the warm up.
I got them to stand in a space then started them off with a walk on the spot which turned into sprint then high knees. Then i got them running around in the sports hall with four instructions.
1. Left hand on the floor.
2. Right hand on the floor.
3. Both hands on the floor.
4. Jump.

I realised the kids were just running around in a circle so i introduced a knew rule.
5. Change direction.

After this, we split them into three groups to do different rounders techniques.

I helped do bowling. The technique for this was to:
- Stronger leg at back.
- Bend front leg.
- Follow through your throw.
- Aim between waist and chest height.

We got them in pairs with one ball and got them to practice bowling. Gradually getting further back, increasing the distance to throw.

Then we got all the group together for a game of rounders.

Abercrombie visit 5.

After the warm up, the class was split into three so each group had 10 children on a third of a badminton court.

My group had to deliver dribbling in basketball. When the children turned up, i explained the key factors of dribbling, which are:

- Head up
-Bounce the ball waist height
-Use one hand at a time
-Crouch your back slightly to gain control
-Use fingertips

After that i got them to dribble in the area.

I called them in after a minute and demonstrated a game which we was going to do. The exercise was to stand in a space and bounce the ball waist height to start off with, then i shout lower or higher. If i shouted lower they had to dribble the ball as low as they could and if i shouted higher they had to do it as high as they could. After three minutes of that, i got them to dribble around bouncing the ball as low as they could. Then we swapped groups and started over again.

This session went well as i took control of the group, demonstrated, encouraged, well detailed and explained games and factors and finally was loud and clear.

Football Tournament.

Today, i travelled to Lees Brook Sports College with Abercrombies Girls football team.

We turned up early so i took the girls for a warm up. The warm up consisted of:
- Running
- Sidesteps
- Skipping
- Knees up
- Heel flicks
- Star jumps
- A passing exercise
- A shooting exercise
- Penalties
- Dynamic stretches
- Static stretches

For the passing exercise, i got them in two lines and they had to follow their pass. For the shooting exercise i got them in a line, i stood a few yards infront, they had to pass me the ball and i layed them off from different angles and they had to adapt to the situation and get a shot away at the keeper.

As it was a tournament, there was several breaks so on the breaks, i got them jogging on the spot etc to keep them warm.

The first game they beat Oakwood school and beat them 3-0. The second game they won 4-0 against Model Village. The third game they lost 1-0 against Langley Mill. This allowed them through to the semi-finals which they played Penine Way and lost 4-0 (They went on and won the tournament.) After this, there was a match for third and fourth place which they played Langley Mill again and won 1-0 this time so they finished third altogether.

I played the role as assistant manager, i did the warm up, motivated and encouraged them, gave them instructions such as 'Spread, keep wide' and kept the substitute warm and prepared.

Chesterfield FC coaching session 2.

This session, we didn't do too much coaching. We took the warm up, all we did was everybody had a ball and they had to dribble around in the grid. We gradually added different skills for them to try.

After the warm up, we got them into four teams which one team had 5 players that we needed to scout/ analyse. I analysed two players in two matches, the other match i reffed.
